This saunabox review is a desk review of a store and its own brand, not a test of a sauna. I haven't ordered from SaunaBox and I haven't used any of its products. I read the home page, the FAQ, the terms page and six product pages on 2026-10-09, and I compared them with each other. That turned up several places where SaunaBox disagrees with itself, which I list so you can ask about them before paying.
A disclosure first: the links to SaunaBox on this page are affiliate links, and SaunaBox pays me a commission if you buy through them. The commission doesn't change what I write or the order of anything here. One practical limit of my link: it opens SaunaBox's home page, not a specific product, so you pick the model once you land.
SaunaBox review: the quick verdict
SaunaBox makes and sells its own products, so there is no retailer in the middle, and its product pages publish more numbers than many sauna sites do. The prices I saw were sale prices with a larger "compare at" figure beside them, and I treat that figure as a label, not as what anyone paid. The weak spot is returns. One page promises a 30-day guarantee with a refund minus postage, and another allows restocking fees of up to $1,250 on large units. I couldn't tell which one applies to a crated cabin, and I would ask before ordering one.
My read: worth pricing if you want a small cabin with published electrical numbers, as long as you get the return terms confirmed in writing. Visit SaunaBox
What SaunaBox sells
The navigation lists All Saunas, Red Light Devices, Recovery Bundles, Cold Plunges and Accessories. Five saunas were priced on the home page on 2026-10-09:
| Product | Price shown | Compare-at | Gap (my arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solara 1-person infrared cabin | $2,799 | $3,000 | $201 |
| Solara 2-person infrared cabin | $4,499 | $5,500 | $1,001 |
| Forge 1-person traditional cabin | $4,990 | $5,500 | $510 |
| Pulse PRO infrared tent with red light | $699 | $900 | $201 |
| SmartSteam Pro steam tent with red light | $399 | $500 | $101 |
The home page ran a "Fall Sale" banner, and the Forge and Solara 1-person pages label their prices with it. I don't know when the sale ends, so these prices may move. The cold side has three products I opened: the PlungeBox CORE tub at $59.98, the PlungeBox XL tub at $249 and a 1/2 HP chiller. The home page also says "Over 100,000 saunas sold" and "Third-Party Tested". Those are SaunaBox's own claims and I have no way to check them.
For how these products stack up against other brands, my own roundups cover them: the best infrared sauna, the best portable sauna and the best cold plunge chiller.
The cabins in numbers
Forge 1-person. The page lists a 3.5 kW Harvia Vega Compact BU heater on 240V, hardwired, with a 14.4A draw and a typical 20A double-pole breaker to confirm with an electrician. My arithmetic: 3,500W divided by 240V is about 14.6A, close to the page's figure. Exterior size is 80.71" high by 43.31" wide by 41.34" deep, the stated maximum is 200°F, and the page gives about 25 to 45 minutes to reach 170°F. Assembled weight is 471.8 lb, and the crate ships at 571 lb gross. The wire gauge is inconsistent on the page, 14/2 copper in the specifications and 12/2 elsewhere. An electrician should settle that, not the listing.
Solara 1-person. The page lists 1,600W at 110V, 35" by 37" by 63", 172 lb and a 300 lb weight capacity, with amperage not shown. Height capacity reads 6'6" in the specifications and 6'8" in another section. EMF is described as "ultra-low", with IEC 62233 and Intertek wording and no numbers on the page.
Solara 2-person. I cover the full specs and the Intertek report in my infrared sauna roundup. It shows $4,499 here too, a 2,073W total draw and a 20A requirement.
Pulse PRO and SmartSteam Pro. Both are 110V tents at 1,600W per the listings I opened, and I explain what that means for a 15A circuit in the portable sauna roundup.

SaunaBox shipping and delivery
The FAQ says free standard shipping to your door anywhere in the mainland US, with one to two business days to process and then 2 to 5 business days to arrive. Expedited 1-day and 2-day options exist, and the FAQ doesn't give their price. Large items are different. The FAQ says Room of Choice delivery is required for apartments or buildings with stairs. It covers delivery, unpacking and placement but not assembly. White Glove adds full assembly, with a two-person team, a four-hour appointment window and a signature at delivery. The FAQ doesn't list the fees. The product pages do: White Glove is $1,300 on the Forge and $749 on the Solara 1-person, and Room of Choice is $493 on the Solara 1-person.
Several details don't line up:
- The Forge page says standard delivery is free to curbside or garage level only, with no indoor transport or assembly, and the crate needs a forklift or two people with a pallet jack. That reads differently from "free shipping to your door" in the FAQ.
- The Solara 1-person page gives 5 to 7 business days to process and 7 to 12 days of delivery, against 2 to 5 days in the FAQ.
- The Forge page has a "Ships in 5-7 days" banner, while its FAQ mentions pre-orders shipping June 15 to 20. That date has passed, so the FAQ text looks stale.
- The terms page says wooden saunas are standard curbside delivery only and shipping damage must be reported to support@saunabox.com within 14 days of delivery.
My arithmetic: a Forge with White Glove comes to $4,990 plus $1,300, or $6,290, before the electrician.
SaunaBox return policy
Three pages say three different things:
- The header says "30-day return Guarantee" with no conditions.
- The FAQ says refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of purchase. Unused items in original packaging get a full refund minus the return postal charge, and used products can't be returned for health and sanitary reasons. It adds that an order cancelled before shipping gets a 100% refund.
- The terms page says orders cancelled in transit or after delivery incur restocking fees of up to $1,250 for large sauna units, plus return freight.
The 30 days run from purchase in the FAQ, not from delivery, so a cabin that ships in 2 weeks has less time left. I tried to open the dedicated refund policy page and the site blocked my reader, so I can't tell you what it says. Ask SaunaBox by email: what is the fee on the exact model, in dollars, who pays freight, and does the clock start at purchase or delivery.
SaunaBox warranty
The FAQ says "1-Year Warranty on all products". The terms page says a 1-year limited residential warranty from delivery and 6 months for commercial use, which must be disclosed at purchase. Product pages differ: the Solara and the Forge cabin list 2 years, the Forge heater 1 year, the PlungeBox XL tub 2 years and the chiller 1 year. I'd read the longer figures as product-specific and the FAQ line as a general default, but SaunaBox doesn't say so.
Coverage is replacement of defective components only. Labor, installation and service costs are excluded, and so are outdoor use, water exposure, modifications and improper installation, which the page says void warranties. Claims go to support@saunabox.com with proof of purchase and photos, and after 30 days from delivery you pay freight on replacement parts. The "outdoor use" exclusion matters for the Forge, which has an aluminum exterior. I couldn't tell whether it applies to that cabin and I'd ask.
Cold plunge products at SaunaBox
The PlungeBox XL tub is $249, marked down from $399, at 48.4" by 31.1" by 29.5" and 500 L, with no chiller included and a 2-year warranty. The CORE is $59.98, marked down from $199, with dimensions, material and chiller compatibility not shown. The chiller is the 1/2 HP Pro at $1,799, marked down from $2,500, 500W on a US 110V plug, with a 1-year warranty. There is a conflict: the XL page lists the same chiller at $1,998. The chiller page also describes a $250 deposit that reserves a place in line, with a later purchase at "$1,299 + Free Shipping". I can't verify that offer or when it ends. My arithmetic: tub plus chiller at the prices on their own pages is $249 plus $1,799, or $2,048.
Pros and cons from the pages
Pros:
- Electrical details on the cabins I opened, including voltage, draw and breaker size.
- Published delivery fees for the cabins, not a "contact us" line.
- A support email for warranty and damage claims.
Cons:
- Three versions of the return terms, and a restocking cap of $1,250.
- Warranty length varies from page to page.
- Delivery times and "free to your door" wording differ between FAQ and product pages.
- Sale prices with no end date, and a chiller price that disagrees across two pages.
Frequently asked questions
Is SaunaBox legit?
It is a working store with its own products, a support email and published terms, and it describes itself as a USA-based company. I haven't ordered, so I can't speak to delivery or support in practice. The "100,000 saunas sold" figure is its own claim.
Does SaunaBox offer free shipping?
The FAQ says free standard shipping in the mainland US. For crated cabins, the product pages say free curbside or garage-level delivery, with White Glove and Room of Choice as paid add-ons.
What is the SaunaBox return policy?
A 30-day guarantee, with the FAQ saying a refund minus return postage for unused items and the terms page allowing restocking fees up to $1,250 on large units. Get the amount in writing.
What is the SaunaBox warranty?
One year in the FAQ and terms, two years on the Solara and Forge cabin pages. Check the page for your model.
Is there a discount?
The home page lists a Fall Sale, an HSA/FSA eligibility banner through Truemed and a military and first responder discount through GovX. The link I use also showed a pop-up offering 5% off with a "Redeem Coupon" button. I haven't redeemed it, so I don't know whether it stacks with the sale or what its terms are. I give no advice on HSA/FSA use.
What I could not verify
- Delivery, installation or support quality. I haven't ordered.
- The dedicated refund policy page, which blocked my reader.
- Which return terms apply to a crated cabin, and whether the 30 days start at purchase or delivery.
- Whether the "outdoor use" warranty exclusion applies to the Forge.
- The "Over 100,000 saunas sold" and "Third-Party Tested" claims.
- The sale end date, the 5% pop-up terms and the chiller deposit offer.
- The correct chiller price, $1,799 or $1,998.
- The Forge wire gauge, 14/2 or 12/2.
- PlungeBox CORE size and whether it works with the chiller.
- Anything on the Recovery Bundle pages, which I couldn't open.
What I would do
Choose the model from my roundups first. Then email support@saunabox.com for three things in writing: the delivered price with the delivery tier you need, the restocking fee in dollars for that model, and the warranty term for that exact product. For the Forge, add the electrician before you count the total. If a written answer is vague, I'd treat the order as close to final.
